Eastport Arts Center is seeking a part-time education outreach coordinator with immediate availability to organize and conduct an ongoing arts program in area schools as well as creating and running EAC’s workshops.
Position overview
The Education Outreach and Workshop Coordinator is responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering a variety of arts education programs for both youth and adults. This role combines program planning, community outreach, teaching, and administrative coordination to support the mission of the EAC.
The Coordinator works both independently and collaboratively with EAC staff and Board members to expand access to arts education through workshops, school partnerships, and community programming.
Key Responsibilities
Program Development & Coordination
Plan, develop, and implement a diverse range of arts workshops for children and adults
Coordinate and oversee 1-2 workshops or programs per week, including scheduling, logistics, and facilitation
Create and manage educational programming for summer festivals and special events
Evaluate programs and gather feedback to improve future offerings
Education Outreach
Build and maintain partnerships with public schools, community organizations, and local institutions
Conduct outreach to promote workshops, performances, and educational opportunities
Support outreach efforts for broader EAC programs and initiatives
Teaching & Facilitation
Teach an average of three KinderArts classes per week in local schools during the academic year
Facilitate or support in-person workshops at the EAC and off-site locations
Ensure engaging, inclusive, and age-appropriate arts education experiences
Administration & Collaboration
Manage scheduling, communication, and coordination for workshops and education programs
Track participation, maintain program records, and assist with reporting needs
Collaborate with EAC staff and Board members on program planning and outreach strategies
Qualifications
Experience in arts education, community programming, or a related field
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Experience working with children and diverse community groups preferred
Teaching or facilitation experience is a plus
Position Details
Hours: Part-time, approximately 20 hours per week
Compensation: $20.00 per hour
Schedule: Flexible; includes some evenings and weekends based on programming needs
Location: Combination of on-site at EAC and off-site at schools and community locations
Work Environment
This role involves a mix of administrative work, teaching in school settings, and coordinating community-based arts programming. The ideal candidate is adaptable, creative, and passionate about making the arts accessible to a broad audience.
