We Are the Watershed
On Friday, May 1st and Saturday, May 2nd, 2026, you are invited to a free, hope-filled gathering called We are the Watershed. The aim of the gathering is to celebrate nature, to express eco-grief, and to spur collective action toward revitalizing the health of Peskotomuhkatikuk – the homelands and waters of the Peskotomuhkati [Passamaquoddy] Peoples. Humans are deeply connected with nature, harms to nature have rippling effects throughout our communities, and restorative actions create benefits for nature and humans alike.

We are the Watershed is a collective of environmental, arts, and Indigenous-led organizations working toward re-connecting humans with nature, to revitalizing the health of nature, waterways, estuaries, and the Bay in Peskotomuhkatikuk.

As part of this event, we solicited submissions of artwork, photographs, and written works from the greater community. These pieces have been collected and will be professionally published in a booklet that will be released on May 1 and sold during the We Are the Watershed event.

We are currently seeking submissions of physical works for an exhibition that will be on display at EAC from May 1 to 15; the drop off day is Saturday, April 25 between 11 am and 1 pm. Artists under 18 will keep 100% of the proceeds; artists over 18 will keep 70%.

Join us in ceremony as we honor Mother Nature, mourn losses, and celebrate collective efforts to restore the health of our Watershed.
