Proposals wanted!

Stage East continues to be interested in hearing from any person or group that would like to propose a theatrical project or idea to be performed at EAC for the coming year.

Please contact or send a proposal to Cookie at cookierepp@yahoo.com to do so.

Original plays sought

In an effort to support and showcase the work of local playwrights, Stage East invites area writers to submit their original plays for readings at the Eastport Arts Center. These events may be presented either as non-staged readings or as fully staged readings with local actors.

Play readings provide an invaluable opportunity for playwrights to hear their words brought to life – helping to refine dialogue, pacing, and structure. They also offer a low-cost way to evaluate a script’s potential while giving audiences a sneak peek at exciting new works in development.

Actors also benefit, gaining the chance to interpret new roles and collaborate directly with playwrights. For Stage East, these readings serve as a vital step between script and full production – and may lead to future performances of selected plays. If you’re a local playwright interested in participating, please contact Cookie Repp at cookierepp@yahoo.com.
