Eastport Arts Center's literary arts programming group, founded in 2023, hosts a range of activities, including a writing group and workshops, performances and exhibitions.

The Stories We Tell Festival was a highlight of the 2024 season, presenting five months of programming. Watch for news of our 2025 storytelling offerings!

The Eastport Arts Center Prize for Poetry, an annual initiative which recognizes excellence in adult and youth poetry writing, was established by the generous support of former EAC Board member Charles "Chick" Moore. 

Judged by notable area poets, the contest awards cash prizes in youth and adult divisions. Entries are collected in an annual anthology published by the EAC and Sea Smoke Press of Eastport, and revealed along with the winners at a celebratory launch, reading and gala reception, in August at EAC. The contest will be open for submissions March 1-May 31, 2025. This year’s topic is “Work.” Find full contest information here.
