About the event
On Friday May 1st and Saturday May 2nd, 2026, you are invited to a free, hope-filled gathering called We are the Watershed. The aim of the gathering is to celebrate nature, to express eco-grief, and to spur collective action toward revitalizing the health of Peskotomuhkatikuk – the homelands and waters of the Peskotomuhkati [Passamaquoddy] Peoples. Humans are deeply connected with nature, harms to nature have rippling effects throughout our communities, and restorative actions create benefits for nature and humans alike.
We are the Watershed is a collective of environmental, arts, and Indigenous-led organizations working toward re-connecting humans with nature, to revitalizing the health of nature, waterways, estuaries, and the Bay in Peskotomuhkatikuk.
We are currently seeking submissions of written works and visual arts that will be compiled for publication into a book that will be sold to support outreach and conservation efforts (deadline April 1). In addition, large visual works are sought to be hung on display at EAC from May 1 to May 17. Drop off physical works on Sunday, April 26 between 11 am and 1 pm to be a part of the show.
The schedule of events for Friday and Saturday will be finalized and announced soon.
