The Eastport Mermaid Festival

Calling all mermaids! Celebrate our creative connection to the sea with the 5th Annual Mermaid Parade on Saturday, August 1 and the 2nd Mermaid Ball at the Eastport Arts Center on Friday, July 31. Part of the Eastport ArtFests series, the Mermaid Festival is a big draw for families from around the region. All activities are free with the exception of the Mermaid Ball on Friday, July 31.

The full schedule of events is as follows:

MERMAID FESTIVAL SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Friday July 31^st: 

1-3pm:  Art Activity at Peavey Memorial Library

7-10pm: Mermaid Ball at Eastport Arts Center 

Saturday August 1^st:

12n-3pm – Free art activities and music:

Overlook Park – 5 10x10’ booths:

Sweeties Downeast – sidewalk chalk painting booth

EAC – art activity

Tides Institute – art activity

Girl Scouts – art activity

Eastport Artfests – art activity

Water St Businesses:

Eastport Gallery - art activity outside

Downeast Creations – art activity indoors

Boatload of Books - art activity indoors

Lunamuse – fiber art demonstration

Music and drumming (interactive) in the Amphitheater with Les Trois Etoiles performance group.

3-4pm:

Muster at the Port Authority Parking lot.   Decorate cars and floats.  Line up.

4pm:

Road closed by police and volunteers

Parade begins

4:30-5:30pm:

Selkie Session (Andy Radin on fiddle, Adam Steinberg on guitar and Kara McCrimmon on various instruments) plays in the Amphitheater
