About the event

Eastport Arts Center’s Concert Series will continue at 7 pm, Friday, August 18 with pianist Raja Rahman, whose prior performances at the Center have garnered rave reviews. Rahman’s program will include the Bach-Busoni “Chaconne”, Bach’s “Italian Concerto”, Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata” and “Mad Rush” by Philip Glass.

A prize-winning graduate of The Juilliard School, Rahman has performed worldwide and won concerto competitions, Juilliard’s Vladimir Horowitz Scholarship, International Concert Artists competition, and numerous other prestigious awards. His career has taken him all over the world in concert as both soloist and chamber musician. A seasoned teacher, Rahman is Director of Piano Studies at Nevada School of the Arts, teaching a studio of 20 students and conducting master classes across the country. In addition, as co-star of the magic and music duo “Jarrett & Raja”, he has appeared on NBC’s America’s Got Talent as a semifinalist, the CW Network, ABC’s “Shark Tank”, “Late Show with Stephen Colbert”, and the BBC. The Sunday Times applauded him as a “Powerhouse pianist; Sir Georg Solti called him “a first class musician.”

Tickets may be purchased at the EAC box office 30 minutes prior to each show, or reserved in advance by email to info@eastportartscenter.org.
