About the event
Community Plate, together with Eastport Arts Center, invites you to join us in Eastport for a special evening of connecting through the sharing of food, uplifting stories about our community, and recipes. A Story Sharing Potluck Supper is an opportunity to engage with new and old friends and to make connections around something we all have in common: the food we eat and our family food stories. Bring a dish (with a story!) to share, an open mind and an open heart. During the dinner we’ll be sharing stories around the table, and after dessert, you’ll be treated to a collection of live storytelling performances from practiced storytellers — some may even be your neighbors! Bring your recipe to the event, and afterwards we’ll be compiling the evening's recipes and stories into a mini community cookbook that all attendees will receive to commemorate our evening together and the community we created.
Our theme for the evening is “Stories from Eastport and Beyond.” We're kicking off the 2026 Downeast Storytellers series with this celebration of the intersections of food and stories. Everyone has a food story! Sharing food and stories is one of the things that connects us and makes us human. It all comes together at a Story Sharing Potluck Supper. Don't miss out on this opportunity to create lasting memories and forge new friendships. We look forward to sharing connection, food, and stories with you!
This free community event is hosted by Community Plate together with Eastport Arts Center. While your "ticket in" is the dish or story that you bring (and you don't HAVE to bring a dish -- see our FAQ below), those wishing to contribute something can make a donation to Community Plate, either online or at the door. Community Plate is a 501(c)3 charitable organization working to bring communities together across the state. We greatly appreciate your support!
