About the event
Weekly rehearsals for the fall season of Quoddy Voices, a community chorus led by Gene Nichols with accompanist Jane Lanctot, will begin Wednesday, September 25, 6-8 pm, at Eastport Arts Center. Performances are scheduled for December 7 and 8. The group welcomes new singers, with no audition required.
Director Nichols took the helm of Quoddy Voices in fall 2023, and has led the group through two programs of eclectic and exciting musical opportunity. For this iteration, he is highlighting female composers and songwriters.
A singer since childhood who has over time become a multi-instrumentalist comfortable in many genres, Nichols notes, “Vocal harmony is the purest music there is.”
