Poetry and Healing

This informal gathering for writers and poets of all ages and experience is composed of reading together some poems chosen for their healing potential, followed by discussing them and gaining our own individual levels of inspiration from or or two poems that participants may resonate with. We may then choose to begin poems of our own. No pressure; all meaningful.

Presenter bio

Erine Leigh, formerly of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, served as poet laureate of her community from 2015 to 2017. Now living in Eastport, Maine, she enjoys open mics, contributing to the Quoddy Tides, and submitting to anthologies. She has taught poetry workshops for school children, for the Wheaton Writing Academy, and for the Poetry Society of New Hampshire. Erine very much looks forward to an afternoon excursion into both the process of our healing and how poetry can be a part of that.
