About the event
Eastport Arts Center’s next Open Mic will be held Saturday, April 19. All ages and types of performers are welcome, but are limited to 10 minutes of stage time, including remarks. Sign-ups for performers will be taken starting at 5:30 pm, and the show will run from 6-8 pm. The lively event, presented in a casual coffeehouse-style atmosphere, has become very popular, with always some surprises ‘at the mic.’ Attendees are asked to bring a donation of a non-perishable food item to support the local food pantry.
Our April event has been sponsored by A Boatload of Books, Eastport's newest downtown business, opening May 1. Owners Christina and Andrew Jeffrey, longtime fans of the Arts Center open mic events, will offer new and used books, art supplies, cafe, and a literary lounge, and can’t wait to welcome community members into their space.
