With a career that includes collaborations with esteemed groups like Lá Lúgh and Skylark, Gerry's musical journey includes sharing stages and studios alongside luminaries of traditional Irish music, including members of Planxty, Bothy Band, De Dannan, Boys of the Lough, and The Chieftains, Gerry O'Connor's artistry embodies the essence of Irish musical heritage.

In recognition of his invaluable contributions to the traditional arts, Gerry was bestowed with the prestigious Bardic Award, "Ceannródaí," by Comhaltas in 2018. That same year marked the publication of his seminal work, "The Rose in the Gap: Dance Music for Oriel from the Donnellan Collection," a testament to his dedication to preserving and sharing the rich tapestry of Irish music.
