Lettering Basics with Alison Ross

EAC’s Workshop Wednesday offerings continue on August 28, 10 am-noon, when instructor Alison Ross will lead a Lettering Basics session. Participants will learn skills to transform handwriting into lettering art, bringing a special flair to projects from scrapbooks to greeting cards and more. Brush pen strokes and letter forms, as well as more casual styles—like bubble and 3D lettering— will be explored. Each student will have an opportunity for personal instruction, and will also receive a list of links for further exploration online.

The session is designed for students ages 10 to adult. All materials are included. Each student will receive a dual-tip Tombow Brush Pen and a packet including various practice sheets, tracing paper, practice paper and blank postcards. Space is limited and reservations are required, via our site or by email to workshops@eastportartscenter.org. Class fee is $25/person. A sliding fee scale (pay what you can) is available by request.

Alison Ross is a graphic designer, sculptor, illustrator, sign painter, and muralist living in Pembroke with her husband Dave. Using her diverse creative background, Alison enjoys creative problem solving and using art as a way to create and connect with the community. She is the President of Eastport Gallery.
