About the event
Have you ever wanted to learn how to make your own handbound books? In this workshop, you'll have the opportunity to learn several traditional Japanese Ledger Binding stitches from popular instructor Jen Maffett.
We will practice templates for four classical stitch bindings and talk about how to create your own pattern if desired. And then, you can choose your favorite to make your own Japanese stitched ledger to take home. Use your book as a travelogue or memory keeper or for sketching and journaling. Supplies included.
Sliding fee scale available (contact us).
About the presenter:
Jen is a maker of books. As an illustrator and writer, it is a fitting occupation! She uses a variety of materials to handcraft art journals and collection books. You can find her books at eastportgallery.com/Jennifer-maffett.
