About the event
Please join us for a delightful afternoon as Jane Lancot performs “The Enchanted Forest” on piano. She will be playing pieces that evoke the psychological and spiritual benefits of a ramble through the forest, including Waldszenen (Forest Scenes) by Robert Schumann, The Hermit Thrush at Eve and Morn by Mrs. H.H.A. (Amy) Beach, and various other short works by Tchaikovsky, Grieg, Rameau, and Mussorgsky. "The hope is to give people the benefit of lush foliage and birdsong in the dead of winter - in the comfort of the Eastport Arts Center," Lanctot says.
A resident of Lubec, Lanctot has a background in performing on modern piano and fortepiano along with traditional Cambodian music. Her radio show, Round the World with Cracklin’ Jane, is syndicated in the US, Canada and the UK and features radio plays punctuated by 78-RPM recordings.
Free; donations gratefully accepted if you're able to support our mission of providing quality arts programming for the community.
