Get Your Head Out of Your Art Play Day

This workshop is for artists and those who don’t consider themselves artists … yet. Spark your creative energy, get unstuck, or just feel the playful joy of making something with your hands. Through mindful engagement with art, Jen Maffett encourages participants to “get out of your head” and create without judgment—embracing the process rather than focusing on the product.

The session will build on simple practices that stretch your creative boundaries and boost your health in the process too. (Yes, the regular practice of art can play a powerful role in improving health and well-being!) It helps relieve stress and anxiety, aids in the management of chronic conditions and can aid in the healing of trauma.

This is not about perfection. It is about process and play, mindfulness, connection with others, presence, and surprise and happenstance. Use it as a spark or a stretch or a jump-start. You can be messy or neat. You can be weird or classical. Participate in creating in community with others.
