Film: Mad Max: Fury Road

EAC Films will present screenings of Australian films on back-to-back weekends in late April. First up is Mad Max: Fury Road (2015, R), a post-apocalyptic action film, with screenings at 2 pm and 6 pm, Sunday, April 21. Next up for the big screen at EAC, on April 28, is Picnic at Hanging Rock (1975, PG).

Swank Films synopsizes as follows: From director George Miller, originator of the post-apocalyptic genre creator of the Mad Max franchise, comes Mad Max: Fury Road, a return to the world of the Road Warrior, Max Rockatansky. Haunted by his turbulent past, Mad Max (Tom Hardy) believes the best way to survive is to wander alone. Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa (Charlize Theron). They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne), from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows.

Tickets for the screening are $7, and will be available for purchase via the EAC site, or at the door. EAC Films, in accordance with MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) guidelines, utilizes the movie ratings system. Specifically, those under the age of 17 will not be allowed to view R rated films without an accompanying parent or adult guardian (at least 21 years old).
