Director's Workshop: Locally-written 10 minute plays

Have you ever thought about directing a play? If yes, this workshop is for you! We have limited spots available for aspiring directors who want to learn to take the helm of theatrical productions under the guidance of Stage East's instructors. Help bring brand-new stories to life on stage by directing a 10-minute original play reading at the EAC. Learn by doing over three sessions culminating in a live performance on July 25.

The schedule for the three immersive, hands-on sessions would be as follows:

Cast auditions: Monday, July 20, 5-7 pm - Casting the plays as actors read from the scripts

Rehearsals: Tuesday, July 21 & Thursday, July 23, 5-7 pm - Rehearse the plays with the actors diving into script analysis, timing, staging, and actor collaboration

Showcase (All Plays): Saturday, July 25 at 7 pm - A presentation of the play readings on the main stage with a live audience

Participants will be sent a script to analyze to start to build a tentative vision of the play. This workshop is offered at no cost with donations gratefully appreciated.
