Eastport Arts Center’s summer concerts will continue on Friday, July 19 at 7 pm, when guitarist and composer Aaron Larget-Caplan will explore music and poetry with a program of Bach, Gershwin, Hovhaness, Albéniz, and Tarrega; a musical poem by the late New England poet/musician Patricia Callan, a world premiere by Colin Homiski featuring Eastport resident Peter Frewen as narrator, and the Eastport premiere of ‘Heretic,’ a micro-opera for solo guitarist that delves into the not-so-right mind of an artist, inspired by the haunted writing of Englishman Arthur Machen, composed by Richard Cameron-Wolfe.

Larget-Caplan’s 11 acclaimed solo albums and multiple publications have been praised across the world. He has garnered awards from the Société Académique Arts-Sciences-Lettres of Paris, France for his trailblazing work in music; the Music Publishers Association of the US; and was Musician in Residence for the John Cage Trust and the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Canada. The Washington Post calls him “A riveting artist;” the Boston Musical Intelligencer applauds his “Astounding technical proficiency and technical delicacy.”
