About the event

Join Paula from TWIG – The Way It Grows for an engaging presentation, Compost, Climate, and Community: Growing Plant‑Driven Resilience in Eastport and Surrounding Areas. This program will explore practical gardening strategies that home gardeners can use to support and protect our local environment.

Paula will walk through each theme—compost, climate, and community—and show how these interconnected elements can inspire an ecological shift toward greater resilience using simple, accessible solutions. Handouts will include recommended plants suited for coastal Downeast Maine.

Paula holds a degree in Horticulture from UNH, is an Accredited Organic Landscape Professional, Owns The Way It Grows LLC (seasonal retail greenhouse  in Eastport) and has earned a Permaculture Design Certificate. She brings over 35 years of experience in the green industry.

This presentation is open to all at no cost with donations gratefully accepted if you're able to help support our mission of providing quality arts programming for the community.
