About the event

The Sunday Afternoons at the Arts Center series is pleased to feature author Catherine J.S. Lee on April 13 at 3 pm. Lee will read from her latest book, A Place to Land: More Stories from the Coast of Maine. The volume of 15 stories came out in January; it is her second short fiction collection. A question-and-answer session will follow the reading, and books will be available for purchase.
Lee lives, writes, teaches, and gardens on the Maine island that inspired her fictional version of Way Down East. Many of her stories, poems, haiku, and shahai have appeared in print and online literary journals and anthologies. She is the author of two award-winning collections, All That Remains: A Haiku Collection Inspired by a Maine Childhood (2010, Turtle Light Press) and Island Secrets: Stories from the Coast of Maine (2022, Sea Smoke Press). She is currently writing a collection of linked stories, which may or may not end up being titled The House at the Edge of the World.
Sunday series programs are offered by donation, with no one turned away for lack of funds. Proceeds will be shared between the presenters and the EAC, committed to sustaining programs like these.
