About the event
Eastport Arts Center’s annual winter Sunday series continues weekly through April. Next up, on March 2 at 3 pm, the series welcomes Brian Altvater and Darren Paul of the Passamaquoddy Wild Blueberry Company. Altvater and Paul will give a talk about the 45-year history of the company, dealing with its many successes and challenges over the years, and also the place of the wild blueberry in Passamaquoddy culture. Attendees may enjoy learning a bit of background with the documentary film, Voices of the Barrens, available on YouTube.
Altvater, who serves as President of the PWBC Board and Paul, company manager, are lifelong residents of Sipayik.
Sunday series programs are offered by donation, with no one turned away for lack of funds. Proceeds will be shared between the presenters and the EAC, committed to sustaining programs like these. The series will run through April. Updates and details may be found at eastportartscenter.org.
