About the event
If you're a Maine amphibian, there's only one night of the year on your calendar: Big Night, being the first night in late winter/early spring when the temperature reaches exactly the right degree - prompting thousands upon thousands of amphibians to congregate in ancestrally-designated breeding areas. Big Night is especially important for scientists (including citizen scientists) as it enables the opportunity to count and monitor populations.
Join Stephanie Allard, science instructor at Washington County Community College, for this enlightening and engaging exploration of Maine's vernal pools and the magic we can find there on Big Night!
Offered at no cost; donations are gratefully appreciated if you're able to help support our mission of providing quality arts programming to the greater community.
