About the event
Eastport Arts Center will offer an Arts Camp on Tuesday, February 18, during area schools’ February break week. Engaging and ingenious instructor Sara Myrick will lead a day of creative exploration with an animal theme. Campers both ‘big’ and ‘little’ will enjoy learning paper sculpture techniques to create animals real and imagined, including Chinese New Year snakes and dragons.
The activity is planned for ages 8 to 18. Younger children may attend with an adult helper.
Sara Myrick teaches art for K-12 students in the Eastport schools, and for college students at Washington County Community College. She is owner of Coastal Whims, an art business celebrating her love of nature and handcrafting. Her widely varied artistic practice has included special focus on up-cycling, print-making and jewelry. In addition to working in the schools, she leads many workshops at EAC, Eastport’s Peavey Library and the Lubec Community Outreach Center.
