Despite the cold and gloomy weather (for June) lots of friends, family, patrons and artists gathered to celebrate the start of the summer season at Eastport Gallery. The reception was held on the evening of Saturday, June 3rd. Guests enjoyed a variety of food and drink along with a chance to see the Annual Community Show as well as a new Member-Artist show. Jude Kempe, President of the Gallery noted “There were many old friends and past members of the gallery as well as new faces of people who have moved recently to Eastport making it a great evening all round.”

The Annual Community Show will be in the Gallery through June 17 and online until July 17. On June 18 through July in the Gallery, Jon Taner's work will be on display in a show titled Codified Reality.
Five new members have joined the General Membership: Meri Fern, Ben Georgia, Dave Ross, Martha Evans, and Jon Taner. Joining us in our new online membership option are Deb Pigeon, Jeremy Katz, and Judy Clendenning.
Coming up next week is our first Art Talk of the season with designer, muralist and Eastport Gallery member, Allison Brynn Ross. She will be talking about her work on the new Eastport Buoy as well as her work with murals. The talk will be held Wednesday, June 14, at the Eastport Arts Center, 36 Washington Street, and starts at 1 pm.
