Downeast Storytellers: StorySlam

The inaugural event of this storytelling season on Saturday, June 21, is a StorySlam with true tales told by local storytellers. Participants will have five minutes to woo the audience and the judges – this is competitive. Cash prizes will be awarded at the end of the evening to the top three storytellers.

• Stories must be true, and something that happened to you, not anyone else.

• The story may be comedic or serious.

• The story should have a beginning, a middle, and an end.

• No notes or props allowed. Stories must be told from memory and not read.

• No politics, bullying, or harassment of any type are allowed.

• The story should not contain content inappropriate for a young audience.

• Be sure to stay within the specified time allowance of five minutes.
